Lawrence Dallaglio, former England captain, meets Hungary's rugby team at World Cup qualifier with Bulgaria

The 2015 Rugby World Cup may seem a long way off, but European qualifying matches kicked off at an unlikely venue in the middle of the Great Hungarian Plain.

Kecskemet, traditionally associated with fierce apricot brandy, has in recent years hit the headlines as the location for the latest €800m Daimler-Mercedes plant.

But this weekend the town hosted the Hungary – Bulgaria European Nations’ Cup international, which served as the opening qualifier in Europe for teams aiming for Twickenham three years hence. Read more
