Contributing to beyondbrics, the FT’s emerging markets forum

Beyondbrics is the FT’s emerging markets forum for guest writers, curated by the FT’s emerging markets desk.

We publish fresh, stimulating and sometimes strong views on economic, social and political themes, trends and problems in emerging markets. Potential contributors may submit around 800 words written in clear English, with or without charts/graphics to illustrate key points. We can snip out any illustrations and post them in the published article. We also need a photo and a one-line biography of contributors for their byline.

Beyondbrics, which is free to read for anyone who registers, commands a broad reach of followers across the developing world, as well as in Europe and the US. We are not in a position to pay contributors.

Pieces that are potentially libellous, written to promote a particular company or commercial interest, obviously untruthful or clearly propagandist will not be considered for publication. We are looking for insightful commentary that will help our readers understand and form opinions on issues of importance to emerging markets. Please take time to check facts before submitting a piece.

A decision on whether or not to publish a piece is made at the discretion of the editors. We receive a lot of unsolicited proposals by email, so please bear with us – it may take some time to respond.
