Update: A test case for the media

A third and I pray final post on Rudy Giuliani’s prostate.  David Gratzer, the doctor who provided Giuliani with his disputed numbers on cancer survival rates in the US and Britain–numbers which provoked an assault from Paul Krugman and others, and a characteristically calm and judicious response from this desk–has posted his reply at City Journal (an excellent publication, by the way). He’s not backing down, which I think is a mistake. Nothing he says makes me wish to revise my posts one and two.

  1. As the media has reported ( W.Post,NYT,etc.) David Gratzer is a member of the American Enterprise Institute, the ultra-neocon oracle of chaos, the AEI is mostly financed by the Pharmaceutical/Insurance/Oil/Military-Contractors lobby’s, run by Podhoretz ,Kagan,Bill Krystol and Mukasey , among other extreme neocons, and some of them ,like Podhoretz and Mukasey, are members of the Advising Committee on the Campaign of Rudy Giuliani, this ex-mayor of NYC that ,after the first terrorist attack to the Towers in 1992, installed the Emergency Response Office right inside the WTC Towers, against the advice of Police and Fire Dpt., and when the Towers got hit again in 9/11, the Response Office got blasted and rendered useless, a “mayor” mistake that cost many lives, also as a mayor he never linked the portable radios used by Police and Fire Dpt., so on 9/11 the 2 units could not talk to each other and many died because of it, and then he send, with then Governor Christie “Arsenic ” Whitman of N.J., they send the WTC workers back again and again to the wreck of the WTC telling them that the air was not contaminated, and now thousands of WTC ex-clean-up-workers are dying of sarcoidosis and asbestosis and they have to go to Court to get some Health coverage, criminal ! , the incompetence of Giuliani is staggering, but since his advisers are all the “cream” of the neocon movement that got us into Iraq, they get flying colors from the media, shame ! …. and to top-it-off , his wife,Judith Nathan, told the media, that if elected, she would join her husband Giuliani in Cabinet meetings, and when asked to confirm, Giuliani told the media in the USA: my wife Judith will always be wellcome in my Presidential Cabinet Meetings if she wants too…this is absurd and highly irrational, but hey ! Judith is a top adviser to the neocon movement leaders in NYC, from Rahm Emanuel and Schumer in the Democratic Party to Joshua Bolten in the W.H. to Mehlman and Berman in the Republican Party, they work together for their neocon movement with military precision and from the 2 parties plus the Independents with Lieberman and Bloomberg, so nothing to it, and the 2 parties dont even see it , amazing ! … and that’s why the neocons (like Gratzer and the whole AEI in the shadows) support so much Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama: if nominated as Democratic Candidates, they would never get 51% of the votes, and with an “accidental” terrorist hit in the summer of 2008 and Mukasey as A.G. to control the situation, the paranoia of the electorate would give the victory to the “macho-tough” candidate : Rudy Giuliani , so it’s a perfect plan, is in motion, and the mayority of the voters are too naive to see it, as many point out in the http://www.c-span.org/ radio-TV call in programs, like Washington Journal in the mornings, 7 to 10 a.m. EST in the USA, some are catching up the trick, let’s hope the whole USA gets the “idea” before we end up with Giuliani,Mukasey,Gratzer,Podhoretz , the whole AEI and Judith in the White House, a global disaster.

  2. I think in mishandling this fiasco you have proven Krugman’s point. In an attempt to prove him wrong you have chosen to focus on a relatively minor point while missing the big picture. As a part of mainstream media, where is your outrage on such a big error by a leading candidate on such major issue??

I for one would not have discovered such an error without Krugman’s help and I feel a bit disillusioned by your lack of guts in admitting your misjudgement in this issue now that the facts are even more embarrassing (e.g. Giuliani was treated by public healthcare dollars and the wierd behaviour of his health “expert”).
