Mike Huckabee is an illogical candidate

Greg Mankiw is right about this. I can’t remember much from my university philosophical logic classes but I do know that minus A implies minus B does not prove that A implies B.

  1. Yes, Mick Huckabee has got it back to front.

Not A implies Not B proves that B implies A.

E.g. if a number isn’t even (~A) it cannot possibly be divided by 4 (~B) proves that if a number can be divided by 4 (B) than it must be even (A).

  2. What a disappointment, I thought the blog would provide some reason why it would be illogical to vote for Huckabee. Instead I just find some philosophical nit-picking.

His reasoning here is totally consistent with every thing else he says, whether with regard to evolution or taxes. So, I guess it would have been more surprising if his logic had been valid..
