Alistair Darling says the Budget is all about choice – choose Labour and get measures that get growth going; choose anyone else and suffer the consequences.
And what about explaining how to lower borrowing?
… That just seems to be an irrelevant detail. If you miss it in the video below – it was this bit:
“And of course we’ve got to take action and we will take action to get our borrowing down, halving our borrowing over a four-year period.”
Well, that’s settled then.
This does not inspire much confidence about tomorrow. My checklist looks like being quite empty.
