Olsen to succeed Gjedrem at Norges Bank

From Bloomberg:

Norway’s Finance Ministry named Oeystein Olsen as central bank governor starting on Jan. 1 in an appointment that may lead to a slower pace of interest-rate increases in the world’s seventh-largest oil exporter.

Olsen, 58, who led the nation’s statistics agency for five years, will succeed Svein Gjedrem, whose second and final term expires at the end of the year, according to a statement on the ministry’s website today.
