West Midland firefighters tackle a large blaze that started Sunday night at J&A Young’s recycling plant in Smethwick, near Birmingham, UK, and which was still burning on Monday. The fire was apparently started by a Chinese lantern that fell onto the site and set alight 100,000 tonnes of plastic recycling material, sending a plume of smoke 6,000ft into the air. Read more
