Models Blanche Scofield (left) using a bejewelled compact circa 1945 and Anna Swan (right) using a bejewelled necessaire by Faraone, circa 1940, on show as part of the ‘Ultra Vanities - Bejewelled make-up boxes from the Age of Glamour' exhibition at Goldsmiths Hall, central London. More than 300 pieces, dating from the 1920s through to the 1970s, will be on display including examples by leading jewellery houses such as Cartier, Boucheron,Van Cleef & Arpels and Chaumet. The summer exhibition celebrates a private collection and provides a window on a glamorous world of luxury - evocative of the Great Gatsby.
