Brides sit as they wait to take their wedding vows during a mass wedding ceremony at a temple in New Delhi. Eleven couples exchanged wedding vows on Monday during the mass wedding ceremony arranged by a Hindu voluntary organisation, organisers said.

There are plenty of men to go round among China's nearly 1.4 billion people but social status can conspire against single professional women, sometimes making it difficult to find a partner.
