Firefighters and local residents struggle on Tuesday to tackle raging wildfires that have consumed large swathes of forest in Portugal and Spain and cost the lives of four emergency workers.

Media reports citing a spokesman for the National Fire Coordination Centre state that more that 200,000 hectares of forest have been burnt by wildfires this year after months of severe drought.
