Students from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, on Monday cover themselves with foam to honour the ‘academic family’ . The ‘raisin weekend’ is held every November in the university’s St Salvator’s Quad. A gift of raisins (now foam) is traditionally given by first-year students to their elders to thank them for their guidance. The first-years in exchange receive a receipt in Latin.
