Cabinets full of curiosities, including Sir Isaac Newton’s death mask and shells collected by Charles Darwin, will feature in an exhibition which opens on Friday and runs until March 2014 at the University of Edinburgh’s Main Library Exhibition Gallery. Pictured are a cast of the brain of grave robber William Burke, the death mask of Sir Isaac Newton, an 18th century walking stick that transforms into a violin and a clay brick fragment from ancient Babylon with an inscription in praise of King Nebuchadnezzar.
