  • Online travel site Expedia is planning to spin off TripAdvisor, in a deal that could value the unit at as much as $4bn, the Wall Street Journal reports. Dara Khosrowshahi, Expedia chief executive,  said the recommendation and travel media site had grown to a point that it was now ready to be spun off into a pure-play media company.
  • The Los Angeles Times has revealed a management overhaul at Google carried out by Larry Page, who returned as chief executive at the online giant on Monday. Mr Page has decided to streamline the product and engineering structures with essentially one lead manager overseeing each functional group.
  • Intel’s venture capital arm is expected to invest in digital textbook and tablet maker Kno, says Bloomberg BusinessWeek. Previous investors in the company could also join the $30m financing.
  • Online gaming company Zynga has hired former Cisco exec Debra Chrapaty as chief information officer, AllThingsDigital reports. Ms Chrapaty previously was the senior vice-president of Cisco’s collaboration software group, where she worked on enterprise collaboration software services and cloud infrastructure.
