Amazon plans October launch for tablet

Amazon plans to release its own tablet computer by October, according to the Wall Street Journal. The online retailer hopes customers will use the tablet to rent and buy the company’s content, the WSJ believes. 

Motorola is working on a high-resolution screen for its next tablet computer, Engadget says. The new tablet, which will run on Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich software, will have a 4:3 screen ratio – which brings its proportions in line with Apple’s iPad.

A job advert seen by CNET appears to point to an August release for the new iPhone 5. The job posting is for:

full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project to work 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) for the period 16th August – 29th October within key retail stores
