Tech news from around the web:
References to a product called “Vibes” found in Facebook’s code has sparked speculation that it could be related to a music service, Mashable reports. The service – unearthed in the code for the installation programme for the video chat service launched in partnership with Skype this week – appears to point to a download service.
Apple Insider is looking at rumours that Apple is planning to introduce a new iPad model this year. The new model is expected to have a high-definition screen and there will be at least one “Pro app” targeted at media professionals to accompany the new product.
Sticking with Apple, The Wall Street Journal reports that the technology company is working to resolve a security hole in its iPhone and other mobile products. German authorities have warned the loophole could allow hackers to access confidential information once a user opens a PDF document on the phone.
