Music publishers have settled their part of a class action suit brought against YouTube, according to PaidContent. The suit, brought by them and other leading content providers such as the Premier League, alleged that the video site’s inattention to controlling copyright material violated the law. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Microsoft’s Windows president, Steve Sinofsky, has provided a sneak peek of the forthcoming Windows 8 by unveiling some of the feature teams working on the new operating system, Business Insider reports. Among the teams working on the next version of Microsoft’s flagship product are:
- an App Store team
- an In Control Of Your PC team, which Business Insider thinks could be some new control interface or security feature
- a team working on a Human Interaction Platform, which might be a Kinect-like way to control Windows
- a User-Centered Experience team, which Business Insider speculates might be a way to personalise Windows based on the user’s sign-in credentials
Apple’s mobile advertising head, Andy Miller, is to stepping down to take up a post at the venture capital firm Highland Capital Partners, where he will be responsible for developing partnerships with mobile and technology companies, the Wall Street Journal says. Mr Miller joined Apple in 2010 as part of the company’s acquisition of the mobile-advertising firm Quattro Wireless, where he was chief executive.
