Beatles finally available on iPhone – sort of
You may not be able to hear the Fab Four on iTunes and the iPhone, but you will be able to see them with the licensing of their images by The Beatles’ Apple Corps to MusicSkins, announced today .
MusicSkins has won the rights to creating skins for seven album covers, including Sergeant Pepper, Abbey Road, Yellow Submarine and A Hard Day’s Night. Read more
Beatles beat Guitar Hero, PS3 finally hits No 1
The Beatles: Rock Band outsold Guitar Hero 5 in September in the US, while Sony’s PS3 console beat its rivals’ sales figures for the first time, according to the latest figures from the NPD research firm.
The “Battle of the Bands” was a key focus as the two titles were released at the same time, but both were outsold by the latest release in the Halo franchise - Halo 3: ODST - and Madden NFL 10. Read more
Apple might offer a `Cocktail’ of new iPods and music

Apple is holding a music-themed press event tomorrow, where it is expected to unveil a package of goodies that will start being attached to sales of full digital albums.
The product, code-named Cocktail by the record labels, will include interactive lyric sheets, photos and other virtual extras aimed at replicating and improving on the old experience of opening a vinyl record sleeve or CD boxed set filled with trinkets. Read more
Microsoft’s moving sense of motion
Microsoft’s new motion-sensing device unveiled at its E3 press conference today has no name, no price, no release date and its early-stage technology is of uncertain parentage.
