For the past week, there have been two big questions hanging over Egypt. First, just how ruthless is Mubarak prepared to be? Second, if he gives the order to shoot demonstrators – will the security forces obey? As I write, we seem to be getting the answer to the first question – with pro-Mubarak demonstrators on horseback and camels attacking the demonstrators in Tahrir Square. But who are these people?
