The economics of sit-ups

Well, my $1000 is safe.
Several readers wrote to ask me how my exercise regime was verified. In short, I verified it myself - although other options are available from Stickk.com. That worked for me: I’d cheat myself out of doing pressups but I wouldn’t lie to cheat DC Central Kitchen out of $1000.
That may help to explain, also, why I didn’t pledge $100 to the BNP in case of failure, as some readers suggested I do for the additional motivating force. It’s a fine line between enough motivation to do the press-ups and not so much motivation as to lie about them. Thomas Schelling would understand.
