The Richmond candidate’s campaign for Walthamstow races

Peter Dul, the UKIP candidate in the prosperous south-west London seat of Richmond Park, has made an intriguing last minute bid to win votes.

In his election address, the moustachioed Mr Dul offers the usual promises to end mass immigration and to tackle the unelected elite in Brussels but then adds that his key local concern is to reopen the Walthamstow dog track.

It seems unlikely the fate of greyhound racing in east London has until now much troubled the electors of leafy Richmond, although you never know. Voters have branded Mr Dul a “laughing stock” on his website: he blames a printing error.
