This advice from Ed Balls to the Miliband brothers will stick in the craw of a few veterans of the Blair/Brown wars:
“Between the brothers there has been a little bit of off-the-record briefing going on. Hopefully, the two of them will say to their supporters to stop it. I think it is pretty unedifying.”
“There will be no off-the-record briefings from anybody involved with me,” he added
Balls tells Total Politics that while his supporters are on a tight-leash, shadowy backers of the Mili brothers have been besmirching David’s “eccentric personality” and Ed’s “dodgy decision-making”.
Very kind of him to share all this with us publicly, as I’d not spotted these specific “off the record” briefings in the press before.
