Clegg “stars” in White House pool report

They said Clegg was the new Obama. But when set against the real thing, well, he didn’t quite live up to the billing.

Clegg should be proud that his United Nations speech won a mention in the White House “pool report”, which is sent to dozens of US news outlets.

But I don’t imagine it was the kind of write-up he was hoping for:

“Suffice it to say, the audience in the UN General Assembly hall was far more hushed and attentive to Obama than they were to the preceding speaker, British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who gave his remarks amid a quiet din of side conversations and diplomats coming and going.”
